I expect my first time in the gym was not unlike yours. I was not born with perfect form, innate confidence, rigid discipline, nor any special strength gene (though it's rumored I'm related to French-Canadian strongman Louis Cyr). These things we build patiently, together.​​​

My career in training was born of three things:

1.  A desire for work that balances leadership with personalized fitness, engaging in the type of exercise I’ve loved since grade school gym class.

2.  A refusal to fall victim to “bad knees” and loose ligaments–a curse on my family’s health history.

3.  A commitment to all-around personal growth in a new city, taking the responsibility to become the type of person I would want to train with.
